Interatrial block (IAB) is a conduction disorder between the atria that has been associated with supraventricular arrhythmias since the 1970s. Recently, several studies have demonstrated the association of IAB with various cardiovascular outcomes, such as atrial fibrillation, stroke, dementia, and mortality. This condition is also associated with heart failure and is part of the spectrum of atrial cardiomyopathy, making its clinical impact significant, and its understanding important for clinical practice and future research.
